Had a rejection post case study, said I’m on a reserve list If anyone pulls out...
Is it reasonable to ask for feedback at this stage? The next stage was the final stage, with a group exercise and 2x interviews.
Yes. When I sent my case study they replied saying thank you and that I would hear back by middle of September at the latest.
EDIT: Sorry, I was mistaken. They said mid-September in the initial invite email with the details of the three assessments (VI, McQuaig and case study). Fourth para from...
Without having knowledge of the process, I can only assume they’re working their way through the apps gradually and shortlisting those for the next stage as they go in case they have spaces post vac scheme. This is based on the fact there seem to have been a couple of batches of rejections so...
Hi Jessica,
Do you have any general tips for written case studies? I was thinking of rough time split of 1/3 reading and 2/3 for the writing. Does that sound about right?
As a career changer it has been a while since I've done one...
Thanks!
It could be anything. Your writing, you may have new experiences to add since it's been a year, their questions may have changed or you may want to refine your answers. If you got through the application previously then the improvement is probably needed in the next stage. But I applied to a...

I’ve just been offered a job in my current industry that matches the NQ salary of a lot of firms plus an average salary pension. Though the scope for increase is limited and bonuses are small.
I’m still very keen on the switch to law but I...
You may have done this already but I wouldn’t round the single year averages when calculating the overall average.
Personally I just did the calculation in one go:
(2nd year weighted average + 3rd year weighted average)
1/3(2nd year total/number of modules) + 2/3(3rd year total/number of...
It’s less than ideal. But seems there is an accelerated GDL programme. I still haven’t found it but presumably it exists if law firms are talking about it?
University of law have a GDL that starts in January, so presumably that finishes on time to start the LPC.
It’s not, are they delaying TC assessments too? This is a smaller city firm. Saw another firm has delayed until early 2021. Not sure how that’ll work for people who need to do the GDL, maybe they’ll shift to SQE.
