I’m in the same boat. I wonder if they ever say that they’ll consider you for a summer scheme instead if they liked your application? I'm also working full time (as a paralegal) and applying for vac schemes. I spoke to my manager about it and she said I could take vac schemes as unpaid leave rather than holiday - I'm not sure if everywhere would be the same or its because I do work for a genuinely very supportive team/firm...- Phoebe
