A successful TC journey!

Hi! Congratulations on your TC offer!

You mentioned often that your grades and background may not align with a lot of firms, could you please elaborate on that? I'd love to know how you positioned yourself, especially because Akin, Willkie and OC are very competitive firms.

Best of luck with the TC!!
Thank you and good question! In all honesty, I have very good work experience which I believe helped me to stand out in my applications. My general advice here would be to really draw on your skills and think about how you can use your unique experiences to help you stand out during the process.

You should also learn how to write convincingly, in a way that is succinct, aligns with the firms values and core work offering. It took me almost two years to understand how to truly write an application. I’d also recommend tcla premium to read through past successful applications and learn how to write in a similar way.

As mentioned above, I also only really applied to firms with no grade requirements (both A level and GCSE) to really maximise my chances.

Please let me know if you have any further questions and I will be happy to help!!

A Mini rant:

Since receiving my TC offer, I’ve of course received so many lovely congratulations, but I can’t help but notice the amount of fearmongering around passing the SQE that follows😭

I hate when someone congratulates me and then, almost in the same breath, tells me how difficult the SQE is, how awful the exams are and how I should start preparing weeks in advance!

Like, I get it!! I know it’s a difficult exam and of course I’ve already thought about the SQE and what it’ll involve. But can I enjoy this wave for a little bit longer please?! 😭

I worked so hard to get this TC and I just want to enjoy the excitement of actually getting here without immediately being made to worry about the next hurdle.

Rant over 🥲
