Applying Outside the UK

Hi everyone,

I finished my LLB in London and am currently doing an LLM in the US. I was wondering which firms accept vacation scheme applications from candidates who are currently outside the UK and are willing to sponsor visas.

Also, are there firms that allow candidates in this situation to go directly through the TC interview process online rather than requiring them to attend interviews in person (for example, Clifford Chance)?

I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences from anyone who has been in a similar position. Thank you!

Hi! I personally don't have a direct list of such firms. However, I think the vast majority of the bigger firms would be more than happy to accept people in your position. For instance, there was 3-4 people on my Linklaters vacation scheme that were studying in the US.

In regards to the second part of the question, I believe Linklaters has the option to do the AC virtually, or at least they had that last cycle. Furthermore, I believe Skadden has a purely online application process.

Otherwise, it would probably be best to reach out to Graduate Recruitment directly to see if any alternative arrangements can be done for you, even if officially there isn't.
