Out of the many sector specialisms that Bird & Bird has, what is the biggest opportunity facing one its sectors?

Due to the emergence of COVID-19, a vaccine is at the heart of thought and manufacturing at the moment so Life Sciences and Healthcare could be it?
Also, the e-sports industry is growing heavily and since technology has been zooming in the past 10 years it looks to grow even bigger. Perhaps then the media, entertainment and sports sector.

What do you guys think? Any recent news that could mean a big opportunity for twobirds

Sector Specialisms:
Tech and Communications
Automotive
Media, Entertainment and Sport
Financial Services
Retail & Consumer
Aviation & Defence
Energy & Utilities
Life Sciences & Healthcare

Note that the question isn’t about choosing a ‘correct’ sector. You are free to choose any Bird & Bird sector of interest to you.

Once chosen, you can then decide what you feel is the biggest opportunity facing that particular sector. That’s where you can justify your chosen opportunity.

If that’s what you meant, feel free to ignore this. Just from the way your question is posed, it sounds like you are trying to determine the biggest sector opportunity - which isn’t what the question is asking.

    Thanks Jaysen!

I am struggling with this question because I am too focused on what "correct" content to write about.

I guess then if I talk about a sector that I am interested in and justify why it is facing the biggest opportunity then I should be fine.

But with that in mind, I am still struggling with what to talk about and how to structure the answer. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't worry - that's a very common situation to be in.

That's exactly right. Looking at Bird & Bird's sectors, are there any that interest you the most? I'd use that as a starting point.

You can then begin researching the most significant opportunities facing the sector. The mistake here is that sometimes candidates parrot information they have read online. What you want to do is apply your existing knowledge, the range of your research, and your own perspective to make a strong argument for this question.

Yes, I echo Jaysen's comments above. There isn't one sector that is "better" or "more correct" - Bird & Bird has strengths in all of them and that is one of the firm's selling points to clients.

I went with a sector that I am more interested in and have work experience (Tech and Communications) as I felt that I could then weave this more naturally into other responses re "Why Bird&Bird", "Why Commercial Law" etc. Also, in my opinion, it is easier to demonstrate commercial awareness if you choose a sector/industry that you are more interested in.
