Direct TCs 2019/2020

Hi all

I’m not sure if there has already been a thread on this but was wondering if anyone knows of which firms that actively recruit from direct TCs applications as opposed to the VS route for 2019/2020?

Any insight/feedback would be much appreciated!

As I said, it is old!

Possibly, but it at least gives you some indication. I suspect very few people on here will have true insight into conversion rates for a range of firms. At best they might know a few, but even then its likely to be based on their assumptions on how many people they think converted from the vacation schemes they were on (which is rarely the full picture).

Other way to look at it is the ratio of work experience placements they have to training contracts.

If the work experience placement figure is lower than TCs, then they will more likely hire via direct TCs. Even organisations that have an equal number of work experience placements to TCs, are likely to need to do direct hiring as:

1. Not everyone will be good enough to get an offer from their VS
2. Not everyone will accept an offer

This won't be 100% accurate, as you could be hired from being a paralegal or from an Open Day/First year programme, but it will at least give you some indication of likelihood. Where to avoid is where there is an exceptionally high number of work experience placements to TCs.
