Insight Day - how much preparation/legal knowledge?

I have an online insight day.

They have sent us case studies. Apparently on the day we will be in break out rooms of 8 and will go through the case study with one of the firm's solicitors/trainees for about 20 minutes.

Obviously if that was 20 minutes and a one-to-one discussion then you would need to do quite a bit of prep, to be able to answer the questions in the case studies, which are various such as 'what are the tax implications of X', or 'what kind of due diligence should be done'?

OTOH with 8 in a group it seems perhaps that you are more concerned with learning about the work they do, than trying to demonstrate that you've googled tax law (etc.) before the insight day.

So what would be appropriate prep - making sure you've read through and noted just some key points, or preparing an exhaustive answer? Presumably with an insight day the attendees aren't being assessed, so you can't increase your chance of a subsequent training contract? Or can you!?
