Rejected from Harbottle & Lewis and DWF. Time to add some volume to my “waiting list”. Will be focusing on direct tc apps now. Not sure how far I’ll get considering all these rejections for vac schemes lol

I'm really sorry to hear about the rejections, as I know it is never a nice feeling.

I would definitely encourage you to apply for direct TC opportunities (even if you don't have lots of legal experience) as you genuinely never know how things will turn out. I only applied for one direct TC opportunity last cycle, and it ended up being the firm that offered me a TC, even though I didn't feel particularly confident about my performance at assessments centres!

Vacation scheme rejections don't necessarily say much about how you'll perform in a different process either, particularly if it is with a different firm. The criteria that the firm use and the format of their assessments can be quite different, and it is all about finding the firm that best fits your strengths and working style - it definitely isn't a closed door at all!

I definitely think it can be a bit of a numbers game (it was for me, at least!), so if you have the time, it can never hurt to get more applications submitted to increase your chances. We'll all be cheering you on, and best of luck with any applications!!
