Hi TCLA!

It isn’t certain whether I will be kept on once I complete my TC in September. Its been suggested that I can qualify early (due to previous experience) if I find a job elsewhere in the meantime.

I am in the process of putting together a CV - does anyone know where I can find good examples, as there seems to be conflicting information what to include etc.

Your firm will be the ones determining whether they can apply time to count to allow you to qualify earlier - you will need to speak to them about this to understand if it is possible.

Most templates via Google are horrendous. This US template is generally good, although can be extended to two pages:

Some additional points to make:

- Detail responsibilities in each seat
- Focus on key achievements rather than talking about general trainee responsibilities - be specific with the impact you have had, the types of clients you have worked with, and when you have stepped into high levels of reaponsbilities
- If you have been involved in any extra curriculars at work, make sure they are listed too (eg network groups, fundraising, firm sports teams).
- if your LPC or PSC modules align with the practice area you want to go into as a NQ, highlight that in your academic section.
- your experiences before your TC become less important but still can be included to complement your experiences throughout your TC, so don’t be afraid to highlight key achievements/extra curriculars even if they are from some time ago if they really help to sell your uniqueness.
