Hey everyone, I've been at my current firm for over 1.5 years now. I wasn't given the chance to negotiate my salary when I was offered the job and I asked my partner for a meeting to discuss this and my performance/development. The firm doesn't conduct performance reviews for paralegals (which I thought was strange) and my Partner keeps cancelling every meeting we set to discuss this (I have been trying since March). I have a much higher level of responsibility since starting, set up a new team and effectively manage the day to day of the team, helped foster good client relationships to assist in a tender, have minimal supervision of my work and even did associate level work (which was acknowledged by my partner). I work onsite at a client who has constantly given me good feedback as well as the associate I work with. I don't think impair fairly for my role and rather annoyed that Im not even given the opportunity to discuss it. Should I keep trying or just look for a new job?

I would also be annoyed if the partner I wanted to speak to kept cancelling!

Personally, I'd do what you need to do to get the meeting first, especially if you're already thinking about leaving. For example, you might stress how much you'd really appreciate the meeting.

I'd then make your case for why you would appreciate a pay rise based on the details you've provided. At least once you have the conversation, you'll have a clear idea of what your options are. And if you're unhappy, you can look for other roles.
