Currently waiting to hear back from:

I'm definitely nervous to hear back from the VIs especially. I feel like I've only gotten comfortable with interviews recently/improved my answers from sometimes going a bit wrong in the ones I've completed, but I suppose it's all a learning curve! Also going to try and apply for K&L Gates by the 31st but largely I think I've completed my applications for this VS cycle which is a bit scary. I'm planning to apply for some DTC but I don't have much legal or commercial legal experience so we'll see how it goes.

Best of luck to everyone, hang in there

Oops haven't updated here in a month... I honestly can't keep up with the PFOs anymore lol I've had them from Katten, Boodle Hatfield, Travers Smith, Pennington Manches Cooper & Ropes & Gray.

I'm still waiting to hear from:
  • W&C post interview
  • CRS post-VI
  • Stephenson Harwood post-assessment and VI - absolutely going to be a PFO, my scores were awful
Those are my final apps in progression. I really am so happy and relieved to have a vac scheme at one of my top firms. The process is not for the weak and it's definitely been deflating at times. But I really do think that it's a lot of practice - I've definitely improved as I've gone along, going from outright rejections to progression - and a bit of luck, considering how many people apply for these things. I think the main thing I've learnt is to not take rejection personally and keep going. This is obviously a tough career to get into and there's so many moving pieces that can affect outcomes. Writing this so I can remember it later if I need it!

But for now I'm going to take a break, get back to my assignments, and prepare as best as I can for my vac scheme.

Wishing everyone lots of luck

This process is so so tough. But you really only need one yes & I’m hoping that’s Skadden for you!! How are you prepping for the vac scheme out of interest? Good luck with W&C post interview outcome!!

Thank you, I hope so too!!
I haven’t really started yet. I normally listen to podcasts to keep up with commercial developments and news anyway, but closer to the time I’m going to research the seats I’m in and try and practice some legal writing I think. I’m not really sure how best to prepare tbh - if you have any tips lmk!!
