Taylor Vinters Application Question

I'm currently applying to Taylor Vinters for their 2021 vacation scheme and have come to the following question.

If you were asked to advise our management team on one key area for Taylor Vinters to focus on in the next three years, what would that be and why? (250)

Should I mention an area they specialise in and explain the key factors why I think they should focus on it that could result in increased growth for the firm?

In short I'm finding it hard assessing all the areas they specialise in and deciding which one would be best to focus on.

So I think there's two ways you can go about this question.

Firstly, the way you mentioned, by picking a core practice area and focusing on what the firm would need to do to improve. I don't have much insight on the firm but from my understanding they are very strong in the technology industry. I would probably look into who their competitors are and see what kind of strategies they have adopted and compare that to what TV are doing.

The second way you could answer this is by focusing on more general issues facing the legal industry. Management teams at law firms usually set out the strategy for dealing with these issues. So maybe you could look into things like legal tech, diversity, changes to working life post COVID etc. These are just some recent issues I'm listing off the top of my head but you could pick one and expand on it while linking it back to the firm.
