Hi! I have a TC offer with a firm and I have signed the contract. But I have also just received a vac scheme offer from another firm. Can I still do the vac scheme with that firm? It's not prohibited in the contract but should I disclose this to the firms on both sides? Will this be frowned upon?

Hi! This isn't jessica or someone who has extensive experience but:

    1. If the vac scheme offer requires you to not have signed a contract, you have to tell them or withdraw.
    2. If the vac scheme offer requires you to inform them of any TC offers (and having signed) they have a right to withdraw the offer then you have to tell them.
    3. If your TC offer/ contract requires you to inform them of another offer/ vac scheme then you need to.

Otherwise, I would reasonably say that there is no legal obligation to do so.

Whilst xxx mentioned there may be no legal obligation to inform either firm about your TC or VS with the other depending on your agreement with both, I would ask you to reflect on whether it is morally right to do the vacation scheme whilst you have signed a TC. You taking up a place on the vacation scheme may hinder another candidate’s opportunity to shine and secure a TC with that firm. It may be that candidate’s “right place, right time” occasion after going through many application processes, and you completing the vacation scheme, whilst having a TC under your belt, instead of them might just rob them of an opportunity let alone waste that firm’s time with a candidate who won’t be training with them anyway.
