TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2024-25

DLA Piper - has anyone received the VI yet? They are my number one choice, I've seen some people not process from the App stage and was just wondering whether we had a time frame on responses (nervous). I imagine after the WG test they are now reviewing apps and discussing whether they want us to progress - the WG being a filter of sorts
I received the VI over a week after my Watson Glaser test but I wouldn't worry if you haven't heard back yet. They usually do ACs in December/ January so they are probably still going over applications! Good luck!

Hello, just wondering. I attended a firm’s open day last year, can I refer to this when making my application for them this year? I was looking for online events on AllAboutLaw, Legal Cheek etc but couldn’t find any for this year until after the deadline 🥲

Is there a specific way you're meant to put your mitigating circumstances? I only say that I suffered from severe illness, which had a negative impact on my studies. Should I add anything?

Just completed my applications for this Cycle! This is where I applied to, what stage I am at so far, including the dates of when I applied. Lemme know if you guys have applied what the correspondence is like.

Addleshaw: test stage after applying last cycle (24th May)
Bates Wells: waiting for update (10th Oct)
Baker McKenzie: waiting for update (5th Oct)
CMS: completed WG, waiting next stage (2nd Oct)
Hogan Lovells: completed WG, waiting for AC update (4th Oct)
Lewis Silkin: waiting for update (today! 23rd Oct)
Mishcon De Reya: waiting for update (16th Sept)
For me so far it’s Hogan Lovells, BCLP, Addleshaw Goddard and Osborne Clarke. Waiting to hear back from all of them, and still waiting for the test from OC.

I usually say something like that and include specific modules it impacted in particular if that’s the case. Then I usually say something like further detail and evidence can be provided.
