Has anyone done the Willkie written exercise yet? My first time getting through their VI and would appreciate any insights

yeah no for real? and their application form was so short what are they judging us on?? I think they place a lot of weight on critical thinking tests which is just 💀same for simmons -- they don't have any app questions and it's just an online test pretty much.

And what’s worse is that their practise tests are whack and nothing like the real one except the last section.

A lot of firm ask for intentions about applying to PGDL's. As a non-law student, should I put down that I intend to do it if I get a training contract to pay for it? How should I approach this?

how do you usually prepare for WG?

I never really have honestly (note I don't get 99ptl every time lol, got 70ptl + PFO from Linklaters). The first times I did it I read the instructions super thoroughly and then kinda got the hang of it after that. Sometimes one of the wrong answers is perfectly reasonable but you have to recognise what they want you to do. Also they reuse the same questions half the time which makes me feel more comfortable as I just speed through those then go back and think about the ones I wasn't sure. I think that's probably why I got caught out here because you can't go back to check and all the questions were novel 😭


In terms of practicing for WG I think the most helpful thing would just be to do loads of practice tests, e.g. on jobtestprep or there's this site called Graduates First which you might be able to make a uni account for. I tried one practice test there it was a bit weird but honestly better prep for AG's type of test so I probably should've done more of those

One person said they applied to Pinsent Mason's London office. I also got a PFO for London.

Did Fieldfisher extend their deadline? It says on the apply page that the post closes in 5 days but their Early Careers pages all say the deadline is today.

If that's what the website says then go by that. I swear they did the same last year too.

hello im going to apply for White & Case and HFW but their deadlines are the end of this week, and they're rolling deadlines - should i just apply straight for their TCs instead or still worth a shot? @Jessica Booker @Ram Sabaratnam

You mention this is for a pre-employment check - you’ll need to flag this discrepancy to the people doing the reference checks and they may flag it to the recruitment team who will make a decision on whether it is an issue or not. The multiple discrepancies could make this an issue.

If the reference company or recruitment team ask you about this, be truthful as to why both discrepancies happened - there isn’t much else you can do at this stage now.
