You’ll need to check your employment contract and internal HR policies to see if you are allowed to work for another company while being employed by them. Some employers will have restrictive policies that will not allow this or that you would at least have to declare it and get approval.@Jessica Booker and others, any advice for doing a VS while currently employed?
Is it best to be transparent with your current workplace and see if you can take it as annual (or unpaid) leave?
I think my employers would be shocked if they knew I was considering a career change, and I'm quite worried that I'd be "punished" or negatively impacted if I was to say complete a VS, not get it, and have to stay at the company. Any thoughts or examples from what others have done would be super appreciated.
Some people disclose, others don’t and take the risk of being in breach of their employment contracts where they have such terms. Some people don’t have such terms, and just take annual leave with no issues.
