Has anyone applied for the BCLP Academy with aspiring solicitors? Or BCLP in general? Have to do a blended assessment and not sure what to expect x

From what I can remember BCLP’s online test is essentially SJT, SPAG check (attention to detail exercise), some WG style questions.

Well 2 firms I did vac schemes for last year both rejected me at the early stages, proves my theory that you only get one chance at these firms... I'd prefer if the recruiters dont BS about it though

Last year it was all in one go looking at the 2023/24 forum so bracing for a PFO. The email I got after submitting makes it seem like we won’t hear back for a while.

They might have really liked the firm and wanted to shoot their shot again. I know someone who was not offered a TC after completing Hogan's VS so they applied again the next cycle and was offered one

Quite often grad rec or partners tell you to reapply if they liked you, maybe this happened here

Because when a recruiter encourages you to re-apply it would be silly to not try again

You can probably write an application pretty quickly and tailor it to the firm (as you’ve experienced working there) so like, why not, if it can be a quick application.

I think a downside would be the emotional toll because you’re likely to get a PFO (again), but if you’ve come to terms with that then fine.

No, they definitely just say it for the sake of it, in both feedback calls I asked if I should reapply and they both said “yes we encourage to reapply again”, it saves everyone time if they just say you can’t
