Katten PFO was above average - they at least managed to put "application unsuccessful" in the subject, rather than the usual ambiguous "Your application to Katten" nonsense, saves time.

For private equity focused firms like Kirkland what are some ways you could justify an interest in private equity without direct experience? i.e. would it be reasonable to say I enjoyed the variety in x experience, and PE involves lots of variation in companies in different industries, or is that reaching/not substantive enough?
