This has always hugely pissed me off. Given how much time applicants AND grad rec put into this process, they should be able to tell candidates which criteria made the application unsatisfactory (“you failed amberjack” “grades too low” “poorly structured answer”). Unless it’s arbitrary, which I’m sure it usually is

I spoke to a partner and senior associate at A&O and they said that a large part of getting through the application stage is luck.

But I thought all our VIs were manually reviewed, and if we didn’t meet the Amberjack, then isn’t that just a “You didn’t meet the benchmark”? LOL ANYWAYS

Is the RPC assessment invite after they screen your answer or just grades/work exp assessed? Based on their wording I assume it's just basic academics and work experience screened?

Also does the assessment include a mini WG? applied last night, received the invite just before lunch today.

Has anybody had a PFO from Dechert for Spring or Summer VS? I sent my app on 2nd Dec so nearly 6 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything. I have seen people get the WE who applied after me so I’m gna assume PFO but idk why they’re taking the longest amount of time to send the PFO lmao.
