TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2025-26

It's not poorly coded, but they don't use high quality cloud server like Allhires, TCLA, Legal Cheek, etc which rely on Cloudflare, Azure, and AWS. That's why it takes age to upload

I have other beefs with it why I think it's poorly coded:

1. it autofills my work experience, but this doesn't seem to be updatable via my profile, so I have to manually update it every time
2. there are a bunch of mandatory fields for the education section that you can't enter in the profile so the "autofill" thing doesn't work that well
3. there's no way to say you've done SQE by self-study, you literally have to choose a uni from their list otherwise it won't let you progress

Hi,
Does anyone have any tips for in person written exercises and interviews? I'm very nervous!! This is for a vacation scheme interview. :)
I would focus on completing all tasks to a strong standard, rather than perfecting one section and not leaving enough time for another. I spent so long on a spell-checking task (finding the most mistakes out of my AC) but didn’t leave enough time to complete a summarising task to a satisfactory standard. Silly mistake but my advice would be to complete all of the work and then go back to see if improvements can be made!

How many are on the ,Weiss vacation scheme? They have offered 4 TCs (maybe more) from their WVS and hire up to 10 a year leaving approximately 6 left between two schemes in the spring and summer, is their VS cohort huge? 10+ or small like 5?
Unrelated but do you know what the interview to vs conversion rates tend to be? I get it’s harder for pw because they’ve only done it once

No idea what the conversion rate is, but one of the managing partners said they don't cap the number of training contracts offered. This means, in theory, that everyone who does a VS with them could get a training contract.

Has anyone received a Baker McKenzie AC for the spring vacation scheme?
Hi did you get the AC? If so, congratulations! If not, don't worry you have plenty more opportunities. I wanted to ask though, I'm currently applying for their Summer Vacation Scheme. I just received the link to their 'Online Test'. If you don't mind me asking, what does it entail? Is it a Situational Judgement Test (SJT) and verbal reasoning? Is there a video interview, or anything else? Do they use Watson Glaser?

There's very little public information about it.

Thank you!

I got through to the virtual AC last year and for this question I picked two big deals/pieces of work. I linked one to a practice area and linked the other to a sector and spoke about why each interested me and why the firm was strong in these areas. I did not go in depth into the deal that much I focused more on my interests and experiences.
OMG this is so helpful never thought about linking it to practice area or sector that is a good suggestion.
