SHL Test

I think I've done this test twice now - it's not that popular for law firms. Have unfortunately gone down a bit of a rabbit hole and it seems that you can practise a lot and basically guarantee success. I'm not a huge fan of this type of test for that reason. Practice tests are here...

if a firm asks to provide a cv, do we also need to fill out the work experience section? it's optional @Afraz Akhtar

Hey @Bread sorry for the late response to this, but if something is optional, it's usually not relied on in any assessment of your application form. It is either there to make the graduate recruitment's life easier, if they decide to screen off the ATS instead of a CV or it'll be something they may refer to if the process gets heavily competitive.

As it's something you could relatively copy from the CV, I would include it anyway - just to be safe.

urgenttt 🥲I’ve been invited to a Bank of England video interview due tomorrow. However, I’ve just been emailed about amended eligibility criteria from the University of Law, which the Bank of England uses for its programme, now requiring Trusts. I achieved a first-class law degree at a top Russell Group university but did not take Trusts as it wasn’t required for my course. I’m unsure how to proceed, especially as the email arrived at 5pm today and I may not receive a response in time. Should I still complete the video interview? Any advice would be appreciated, im sooo upset by this. sigh I wish they disclosed this before.

Oh I feel like I did it ages ago - had lost all hope! I submitted application on 11/12, completed test on 12/12 and then got a VI invite yesterday (16/01)

is getting collaboration as an area for development in W&C capp a bad sign

not necessarily! a lot of the time your "area for development" is just the area you scored slightly lower in than the others: it doesnt mean that you scored much lower or are actually in need of development there I got scattered results on SJTs across all firms applied to (incl collaboration as area for dev) and got progressed by most so dont worry

SEO refused to help because it a non sponsor firm and so did Rare, and aspiring solicitors just havent replied to me. i come from a low socio economic background so cant even afford to pay for the subscriptions online ((
