Can I just say that before I found out about this forum I used to fail every single interview I get

Well I came here after I found this on google and this week I’ve passed two interviews! I’m so HAPPY AHHHHHH IM GONNA SCREAM thanks everyone and ty for being such a supportive and informative place

Just saw the Shoosmiths discover scheme email - We are currently screening applications and appreciate your patience while we complete this process. As a reminder, the placement selection process is made up of two stages: the application form and, for some candidates, an online strengths-based assessment.

What do they mean the assessment is sent to only some candidates? I’m so confused and thought it’s automatic

So I suspect "some" means "all except for those with adjustments"

Question: my friend has received a TC from a good firm (silver circle) but has 2 vac schemes for firms he prefers (one US, one MC). obviously it's risky but does anyone have advice on how to navigate this? Would he be able to temporarily accept the TC but still do the vac schemes? Any advice appreciated!

I know they mark candidates based on grades however they do accept mitigating circumstances. I have been told they care more about the grades than the university by a personal connection.

I’d suggest going back to some previous messages about it, including 2024-25 threads. Essentially, if the terms of the tc offer and the terms of the vac scheme offers don’t preclude you from doing a vac scheme under these circumstances, you’ll be fine. Plus, practically speaking your friend only has one TC now and he might not get a TC offer from any of the two firms so he should accept it now anyway
