spoke too soon... Mishcon PFO just came through
hey! i completely understand what you mean - i really wasn't sure if commercial law was for me and the few apps/ACs i did i was rejected from and it felt really crappy because everyone around me was getting schemes! my uni was also collegiate so news spread like wildfire and it was hard to stay positive. i ended up just focusing on my grades by the end and having done that, i actually think i'm in a better position this cycle!Thank you, I feel the same way. It just frustrates me to not know what exactly am I missing haha, I really wish I could sit in on a friend's assessment centre to see what they do differently 😂 But I think I have an idea, so definitely will be spending my summer preparing again
I'm so sorry :< I totally understand how you feel. True haha... I think being at a uni where everyone knows everyone else's business is also a substantial factor... everyone is getting schemes and it just feels like I'm a failure in comparison haha, and news travels fast haha
Thank you... I'm on the verge of tears reading this HAHA - I truly appreciate it! I think I just need to work harder to show them what I can bring. 🙏 🥺 currently listening to sad songs IS NOT helping either haha
best of luck everyone! wishing all the best for you guys! seeing you happy makes me happy so go out there and achieve your dreams!
I'm so sorry. what a silly testing method -was this spring?Mishcon PFO post SJT fantastic news xx
me too😭😭😭😭 about timespoke too soon... Mishcon PFO just came through
Hey!Hey @Abbie Whitlock, I have a Farrer AC coming up and understand you vac-schemed with them in a previous cycle. I was wondering if you could shed light on what to expect in the group activities, and the level of commercial awareness needed in such a task? Confused as to whether it is solely testing our personable/collaborative skills or our knowledge also.
bump for adviceHi guys!! i’m looking for a bit of advice — I have a vac scheme upcoming that i have been able to get holiday approved for (yay) however I am waiting to hear back from a couple more ACs about other vac schemes and I don’t currently have enough holiday entitlement to take leave for them ( bc i started this job in the middle of the holiday year) I don’t think my job will let me take unpaid leave (even tho i’d be happy to) so what should I do? 🫨 I work as a paralegal for a rlly good firm but the training prospects are only within the same team (and I don’t like it lol)
i know this is a great problem to have but i am a bit worried — best case scenario i convert the vac scheme i have but i don’t want to close doors prematurely ygm
Tbh it doesn’t make sense for them to put us through that chat based interview and then an SJT. IMO it makes sense to sit the SJT first with your initial app and then sit the Bright Apply interview if you pass the initial benchmarkMishcon PFO for Spring, finally. 24/36 amberjack.
The chat based interview honestly did not provide that much opportunity to showcase firm research. Just my two-cents. Also being lied to about the SJT being selective has really put me off.
i believe theyre all springSorry to hear this everyone.😢 Are the Mishcon PFOs for spring or summer?
Hey!Haha true, thank you - I think one challenge will be getting over this imposter syndrome when I know most ppl on the scheme have options elsewhere too whereas I was unable to get the same - I'm really thinking that the one offer I do have was a very very big fluke haha. But you're absolutely correct! I think I'll focus on getting better grades this year and then the scheme :> tysm for your advice!
