TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2025-26

Hey guys, so I got the Withers proofreading task (yay a progression!).

I was scarred from the Hogan Lovells one because I am a chronic overthinker and English is not my first language (I write based off vibes not grammar rules).

Does anyone have any tips on how to do well in one of these? Because I tend to overthink and presume there's a mistake when there may not be one just because idk they should have used a semicolon instead of a comma (again I make these decisions usually on vibes so I don't actually know when you should use a semicolon 😭). Or another example is whether these exercises tend to follow the Oxford Comma or not (as in I should correct if there isn't a comma before the and)?

Any advice would be appreciated 🫶

For the Simmons^2 PFO, did everyone else get an email saying that it is because they are at capacity for the scheme that they are unable to progress the application to the next stage?

Mine said that and also that they encourage me to apply again when applications open in autumn, but I presume that's just a standard format email?
I received two emails from them: one saying my application isn't being progressed further, and another saying they're at capacity and encouraging me to apply again. I emailed them to clarify which one was correct about my specific application, and they responded saying it was due to capacity and that I should apply again next cycle. There are def two emails being sent out!
