Thanks so much for the insights!!! The fact that you progressed passed the app stage is more than enough consolation for me because I just thought I wasn’t cut out. I hope you get something soon if you haven’t already!!

i had an interview w/ them last week for the vac scheme, dunno about TCHas anybody heard from Boodle Hatfield post application? (not sure whether to mark it as a pfo)
What firms are you applying for?I’ve done a few ACs so far and one more coming up but I’m just feeling so deflated. Feedback received so far was basically you’re good but not good enough. Feel like I’m also bombing the ACs that I did but haven’t received an outcome because I would think about the parts that I didn’t do well. You might say well you don’t have to do well for every exercise and firms want to see potential not finished products but the brutal reality is there are lots of people out there that did better than you and perhaps across all exercises but you didn’t do so well in a few parts of the exercises and so you couldn’t get a vac scheme. And it hit harder if they take almost half of the AC attendees to their vac scheme
Perfect! Thank you - best of luck!!!i had an interview w/ them last week for the vac scheme, dunno about TC

London is definitely the most competitive area, but it’s great you are still getting good feedback. Maybe target firms with regional locations too, so you are mixing your focusSome international, some national (The firms I had ACs with). Mostly in London and full service. Not US firms.

Yea same it’s so annoying I’ve emailed them but I’m waiting for a reply idkHi, yes I did but haven’t heard back from it yet
Hey!Hi guys, kind of a random question but has anyone ever gotten a VS offer after feeling like you bombed part of an AC/an AC?
Hey!Has anyone had any luck reaching out to trainees etc on linkedin looking for insights into interviews?
Hey!As part of a written question, a firm is asking how would you approach working with people of different ages in the firm, does anyone have any tips on how to answer this?
In previous jobs (non-law) I've worked with people of all age groups, is it worth mentioning that here?
Hey!@Abbie Whitlock
Hey Abbie, hope you’re well!
I’ve got an interview coming up with Winston & Strawn and was hoping to get your view on how best to approach it given the merger with Taylor Wessing.
For my “why this firm” answer, I was planning to talk about Winston’s smaller, specialised London team and the exposure and responsibility that comes with that. With the merger though, I’m conscious that the firm’s structure and positioning are likely to change.
Do you think it’s still appropriate to reference the benefits of the smaller team environment, or would it be better to focus more on the opportunities created by being part of a larger, integrated platform? Do you have any other ideas for how to approach the merger in other aspects of the interview as well?
Thank you!
do they send all interview invites at once or in batches?@Abbie Whitlock
