Generally no, universities can't divulge any personal information without your express permission anyway.

While law firms do conduct background checks, In my experience this kind of thing is usually done on an honour code basis. It's unlikely they would require evidence, but not impossible. If they do request any it does not have to be through your univeristy though, depending on the circumstances you could provide other evidence. Doctors notes, police reports etc.

In my personal opinion, I think the more information and evidence you're able to provide, the more credible it seems.

Does anyone recommend putting a personal intro for their Cleary CV, or just going straight into it?

Hi! I don't have any insights into Cleary specifically, but as a general rule, I would avoid personal intros in CVs at this stage. I would say it's primarily standard to go straight into education etc.

I am just wondering for the above question, what's an appropriate structure to follow as a whole for the entire question, and how many different experiences are roughly expected given the word count? Also, for example, if I speak about an open day - within this individual experience itself, what's a good structure to follow? From my understanding, we need to connect explicitly back to role of commercial lawyer at the end of each experience, but not too sure.

Going to take your various points in turn.

Firstly, in regards to word count allocation, my first instinct is 3 paragraphs (3 experiences). You could potentially merge experiences with a specific firm together, or alternatively events covering a similar topic (PE/Tech/etc.).

I would probably split it100-100-100. However, naturally, some experiences will be more beneficial than others. As such, something like 140-80-80 would be fine too. I would just try to ensure the paragraphs don't look too disjointed in word count.

When speaking about an Open Day, I would start off with the firm and an overview of the Open Day generally. Similarly to the work experience section, I would go into any tangible things you got to do/participate in or learn during your time there. Then, as you said, link this back to how you now understand a specific part of commercial law more.
