I've just been reading about the voluntary code of recruitment for recruitment of trainee solicitors, and I saw something about the SRA withdrawing from it in about 2015.

Anyone knows if it still applies? Out of curiosity, is it still true that a training contract offer cannot expire until September of your final year?

Thanks. :)

SRA withdrew from it but the Law Society took over.

even when the SRA were supporters of it, it didn’t actually mean anything. The SRA never regulated it and it was always a voluntary code.

There was nothing stopping a firm withdrawing an offer and there still isn’t.
