What time on Deadline Day?

May seem like a stupid question, but wanted to double check:

With most firms having their training contract deadline day on the 31st of July, does this mean the deadline is 23:59 on the 30th? (i.e when it's officially 00:00 on the 31st, the window shuts?)

Or is it just 23:59 ON the 31st, and when it's 00:00 on the 1st of August, the window shuts?

The deadline would be 23:59 on 31st and when it hits 00:00 on 1st August, I would presume that’s when the window shuts

I would echo what @W has said - it tends to be 23:59 of the given deadline date but definitely try to submit a few hours before the deadline if not a couple of days to account for technical issues.

23.59 on the 31st....

don’t leave it that late though.

if you do apply that late, you’ll need to submit by 23.59 - doesn’t work if you start an application at 23.59 in the hope you’ll still be able to submit.

Some firms close applications when office hours close though (so anything from 5.00pm-6.00pm).
