Hey everyone,

Vacation Scheme application season is fast approaching! To make things easier for those of us preparing to apply, I have put together a list to track all the applications and their due dates for the Winter, Spring and Summer Vacation Schemes. I will keep this list updated! Please feel free to drop any suggestions to better utilise this thread.

The application dates for BCLP have been released. They are 7- 18th April 2025, and 9-20th June 2025.

Norton Rose Fulbright have released their dates for Winter and Summer vac schemes. These are:
Winter Vacation Scheme: 2 September – 13 October 2024 (scheme dates: 2 December - 13 December 2024)
Summer Vacation Schemes: 4 November 2024 – 5 January 2025 (scheme dates: 9 June – 20 June 2025 AND 14 July - 25 July 2025)

Do you know if having a bad LPC grade (59%) and retakes due to mitigating circumstances may be the main reason why I’m being rejection post application process? My application questions are quite good, I have legal experience and have a 2.1 law degree from UCL?

It could be a possibility for some firms who do not allow their trainees to resit the LPC. If they don’t allow their sponsored trainees to do this, it maybe the case they can’t consider it for those who have self funded. However, if there are extenuating circumstances, that may not be the issue and it maybe other aspects of your application that they are looking to be stronger.

    Thank you for this amazing thread!! Quick q - any insight on whether Latham is offering Winter Vac Schemes this cycle? Their website has dates for summer and spring but no mention of winter, despite them offering it previously..

    is it possible to apply to several vac schemes for 1 firm? e.g. apply to all 3 for Sidley, or do you have to choose one specifically and stick with that one? how would you recommend to pick between the different application seasons (winter / spring / summer)? thank you!

    You are usually limited to the number of applications you can make each cycle, so you will have to check each firm’s policy on reapplying.

    Sidley don’t have such a policy but do stress your application has to be significantly different to your last one if you are to reapply, and it is unlikely anything would have significantly changed between the four months between their two vacation scheme deadlines of mid September and mid January.

    I’d pick the scheme dates that work best for you in terms of timing and other commitments you have. The standard/expectations of the interns will be the same across all their programmes.

    Winter is the most competitive, the hr lady told me at the careers fair last year
