Hi guys,

I wanted to get your thoughts regarding working part times whilst doing full-time SQE. I have a few bills to pay and want to remain financially independent and would be grateful if someone could share their experience or tips in relation to this.

Even if you have done a LPC instead of the SQE, I would be grateful if you can share your experiences and tips please?

Many thanks

    Hiiiii :)

I did the LPC full-time and part-time work in FS. it was tough but honestly doable but my office was incredibly flexible with me so long as I did my hours. I would say that make sure you are highly organized and that you are not behind. Make sure you are up to date with all your modules. I came to terms with the fact that my weekends would be used for studying but this was not always the case .... happy to answer any other questions :)

    Hi
Sorry for jumping in, I was looking for a similar thread.

This is very useful thanks! I'm working part time and will be starting SQE in Sept. My workplace is also very supportive and is keen to be flexible once I start studying. I was wondering if there's anything I could do before the course starts to sort of stay on top of it. It would be really great if you could also share some tips to stay organised? I've heard LPC/SQE is quite demanding in general.

    TYSM.

    heyaa :)

My top tip for me is having a timetable!! allocating time to do everything is actually what kept me on top of everything!! :) checking off stuff during the week was soo motivating

alsoooo, for the LPC i started doing this in the middle but making summary sheets of each topic at the end of the week was incredibly helpful when exam time came! i dont know how the SQE works but if it is open book print everything as you go :) this will help you a lot in the long term. make sure your notes for the small group are incredibly detailed and also attend every small group and always attempt the questions it helps a lot with learning

before the SQE/LPC make sure you rest at least a month where you re just working for example but take time to breathe, i did not do this because i was doing my LLM dissertation the month prior but i feel as though if i had done that then i would not have had as many breakdowns hahaa

might sound weird but make sure to give yourself some crying time when you feel overwhelmed. After a good cry I felt as though I could conquer the world hahah

pm me if you have any more questions i am always happy to answer but to note i didn't get a distinction in my LPC i got a commendation soo maybe asking someone else might help ahah but you can get a distinction (I AM JUST REALLY CRAP AT EMPLOYMENT LAW)

good luck!! i am so sorry for the long comment t

    hii

Thank you for the reply!! It is very helpful in understanding the demands of LPC/SQE. Sounds wonderful. Yes, my game plan is to have a detailed timetabling, time blocking things and revising weekly to stay consistent.

AHAH crying time sounds an essential. I would definitely need that..

Congratulations for passing the LPC tho!!! It's incredible. And good luck!

I might take you up on the pm offer!

    Thanks again :)
