I applied on 24 Feb, progressed to the test the next day (still not sure whether it’s automatic or not) took it on 26 Feb

Sorry about this . If you don’t mind me asking when did u do the test?

On your point, I think it depends from firm to firm and loads of people progress without any legal experience in some firms and some firms may require legal experience! It’s worth a shot to apply anyways.

It's hard to get legal experience. I wouldn't be completely discouraged, honestly. Still, checking with firms should help.

Not automatic. I applied on 22 Dec, and I have never received the test. Today I got the pfo email

Shoosmiths like to send everyone their verdict within 30 mins of each other.

Usually at 4pm or so on the day they give you.
