Hope you’re enjoying your summer and managing to get some well-deserved rest before the LLM SQE starts. You've got a big year ahead!
If you’re keen to get ahead, I’d really recommend focusing on the underlying law, i.e. things like contract, tort, criminal law, equity and trusts, land law, and public law. These aren’t taught on the LLM, but they form a major part of the SQE1 assessments. It's hard to overstate how much of the exam draws on these foundations and in many cases, the law may have evolved since your LLB or GDL. I've met several test-takers who really struggled because they left these areas to the last minute. Having a strong handle on the underlying law will also help make sense of the applied modules like dispute resolution, criminal litigation, and property practice when they come up in the LLM.
In terms of resources, I’d really recommend this brilliant thread by @average_jo123. It's packed with practical advice on prep, revision techniques, and what to expect. Good luck with everything!
