Hello!
I think your
Baker McKenzie example is actually really strong for a "Why Commercial Law" answer. It clearly shows you've had first-hand exposure to the kind of client-facing, analytical work commercial solicitors do, and it demonstrates how you engage with the business side of legal issues - which is exactly what firms want to see (particularly for 'Why
Commercial Law').
If you are tight on space in the cover letter, I'd focus on the
Baker McKenzie example rather than the Enactus example. You can briefly mention that your initial interest in commercial law started through Enactus (perhaps one sentence max), and then move straight into how it was confirmed and developed through your work at
Baker McKenzie. That way, you show both the origin and the growth of your interest without losing impact or flow. That will help keep your answer focused, relevant, and persuasive whilst also maintaining the personal and genuine element.
I hope that assists!
