Wondering if anyone knows whether requesting for adjustments puts you in a disadvantage in any way? Ive always been hesitant to request them but I struggle with the prep time for VIs
Hiya, I have a disability and I’ve requested adjustments for every single stage of applications, including the assessment centre I did. I have a TC offer with A&O Shearman and progressed to AC with CC (which I declined because of my A&O Shearman offer). For VI I requested more prep time and I got about a minute extra with CC. Please if you have a disability request adjustments, you won’t be disadvantaged and those adjustments are there to ensure you have the same opportunity to succeed as everyone else.

How do you usually phrase it when requesting? Do you disclose your disability? or is just "I am requesting extra time" fine
In applications it’ll normally ask you to describe how much time (percentage) and why. I tend to have a standard paragraph detailing said reason (disability/neurodivergence) and how much time extra I require. These may be applied automatically but sometimes it’s good to email to firm or call them to ensure they are applied.

I’m also given a separate room for written tasks or any times exercise for peace of mind.

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but is it fine to pretty much rephrase what I wrote in my application for 'why this firm' in a VI? I think the reasons in my written applications were really good and I'm struggling to think about other reasons which are equally as strong

Mid-tier university so not Oxbridge for sure.

Grades are all A*s for GCSE and A-level.

And then a few thirds for module grades at uni, a few 2:2s and some 2:1s and then some 1sts (what can I say, I like what I like and hate what I hate).

Good results well done. We all have a slip up every now and again congrats on making the next stage big achievement!!

I wouldn’t say you were particularly at a disadvantage you exceeded their grade requirements and I assume your uni is RG.

I haven’t withdrawn yet but I’m going to email on Monday and do so. The earliest start date for CC is more than a year later than the date I’ve been given for A&O Shearman and I’m a 24 y/o masters student so I would like to start the SQE sooner rather than later.

What is the Addleshaw Goddard test like? is it SJT, WG? Any insights please.
I've just completed their application and received the automatic test invite, its a critical thinking test, so similar to WG, no SJT. AG offers you 12 months free to practice on assessment day, but in their email they specify that the only relevant practice section is the critical thinking bit.
