Help what do you do if your AC/verbal answers for why law and why this firm are still very long🄲 idk which point to cuttt
I wouldn't worry about giving long answers in AC as long as you keep it to the point. My past experience with AC is that the interviewers won't stop you or grade you down for it. You've got this!

Just realised I made two Americanised spellings in an application (visualize and prioritize) is this an auto-reject? I don’t know why Word didn’t pick it up this time it normally does 😭

US firms. No! Especially with strong American ties like Cooley. Maybe you're cooked if it's a small city firm without international offices at all.

Probably not an auto-rejection. If somebody reading it picks up on this inconsistency (if you use British versions elsewhere), then it might be a point of differentiation between strong applications if they pick up on that, but I doubt there will be a system rejecting applications for that without reading them.

If anyone has done the Gibson Dunn Captivate Assessment - what type of tasks does it include? And what strengths/weaknesses did you get in the report?
It’s a standard Cappfinity assessment so it has SJT and WG questions. Then there’s a proofreading exercise to check for SPAG.

They said it should take an hour but ngl I spent at least 90 to 120 mins. I think the test was untimed so time doesn’t factor in their decision.

Do you require permission to work in the UK?

    - i'm an intl student and do already have permission to work in the UK via my visa. do i check off yes or no bcs i dont req sponsorship for the VS but i do for the TC?
I have no clue but I’d assume yes as you do require permission via the UK government which is why you have the Visa. Is there a comment box where you can expand on this further?

nope - no extra space unfort! i've been previously instructed to check off 'no' by a mentor (who was a year above at my uni) and was in the same position as me but had offers at freshfields etc. which is why it's so confusing

if it doesn't allow you to explain any further then check no! i'd err on the side of caution to not be auto rejected for something like that, but if there's any space in the application for extra info, i'd add your visa details + expiration timelines there (perhaps in a "anything else you'd like to tell us" or even in the university page's extra info box if you hold a student/ graduate visa)

I think it depends on how long your visa is valid for, if your visa is expiry then yes you need the permission to work in the UK, but its indefinite leave than no - from my understanding
