I’ve just had a penny drop moment and realised the vast majority of firms I’ve progressed with in this cycle all use AllHires… That’s acc insane:

Akin Gump: AllHires ✅
Debevoise: AllHires ✅
Dechert: AllHires ✅
Gibson Dunn: AllHires ✅
Skadden: AllHires ✅

The only exceptions are Willkie and Weil. Weil’s app doesn’t count though cos that was just personal details, academics and the rare form.

Surprise Omg GIF

We need to come up with a petition to ban the use of CvMail though cos it’s so bad. It took me an hour just to enter and edit my academics for Sidley… 🤬
You got a Skadden VS?

He didn't, he said that the apps that have progressed are all on Allhires

So he progressed with Skadden post app

it doesn't imply a VS haha, also that would be wayyy too early for them to announce any VS 😂

A lot of ppl on here have done the Skadden interview, I'm sure you'll hear on here the second they start calling/emailing

Hi, could anyone advise please 🥲

I had a Baker McKenzie VI due 1 Feb, 11:59pm. I tried accessing the portal at around 11pm but was blocked out, and I emailed grad rec straight away.

The platform has emailed me just now saying I’ve been given an extension until 2 Feb, 11:59pm to complete the VI, but the portal still says “deadline has passed” and won’t let me in.

I’m currently in a different time zone and will be out all day with no access to a quiet space or laptop. Would this be a reasonable basis to ask for further accommodation?

I had the same problem, right before Christmas - tried doing the VI around 11ish on the day of the deadline, and couldn't access it. Very poor. I emailed grad recruitment straightaway, had to wait a few days for a response over the Christmas break, which added some unwelcome stress over the break. When they responded, rather than a quick "sorry you were unable to access it, here's a new link", which is what I was expecting (after all, either grad recruitment had provided the wrong deadline, or there was an issue with their VI provider), they asked for evidence that I couldn't access it (why would I have emailed them before the deadline had passed to say I couldn't access it if I actually could!?). Beyond my initial email to them, the only evidence I had was a post I'd done here at the time, asking if anyone else had faced the same issue, so I sent them that. A few days later, grad recruitment emailed me a new link with an extension.
