WBD has this question on its application 'If you could introduce any client to the firm, who would it be and why? Consider which sectors or teams could take advantage of this new relationship."
How would you approach this question? Any tips are welcome.

    Some starting questions to consider:

    WBD
    • What are the firm's strongest practice areas? (check Legal 500 + Chambers & Partners)
    • Is the firm growing a particular practice area? (e.g. making lateral hires or promoting partners)
    • Who are the firm's key existing clients? (check firm website/legal press)
    Picking a client
    • Is the company growing? (e.g. expanding internationally/acquiring companies)
    • Is the company operating in a "hot"/lucrative sector?
    • Will the company need regular/repeat legal work?

I spoke with Womble's grad recruitment team at LawCareersNetLive. For this question they advised really focusing on linking the client to the firm's core departments. She mentioned that you should demonstrate an understanding of the differing type of work that each office completes by tailoring the client you pick to reflect the type of work that the office you are applying to mainly focuses on.
