TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2025-26

I’m curious to hear from people who have applied to open days at the same law firm two or three years in a row…

Although I didn’t get a VS or TC offer in my first cycle, I did have success with competitive open day applications. I visited the offices of Cooley, Paul Hastings, Skadden, Willkie, Simmons, CRS and Lewis Silkin.

I’m still refining my application process, of course, so I’d like to spend more time with such firms, talking with staff, hearing about cases, learning from trainees, etc.

Has anyone had the experience of going to the same open day two years in a row? If so, how is a returning application perceived by grad recruitment teams? Are repeat visits encouraged?
I haven’t applied to open days at the same firm but through Aspiring Solicitors there were a few firms I did repeat visits too (HSFK and BCLP spring to mind). I think Clifford Chance too but it was through Legal Cheek or something iirc. But I think it was for a diff event or purpose each time.

Idk if applying for the same open days at the same firm is 100% worth it. You’d be better off applying for open days at firms you’ve yet to visit or interact with. I think that helps broaden your options when it comes to VS/DTC apps. If a firm is top on your list I think it’s probs fine to do it.

Has everyone who applied to Perkins Coie on the last day gotten the VI already : O I haven't heard anythinggg
Hi, I sent in my application 2 hours before the deadline and got VI on friday @ 18:00. They gave me till today @ 9:57 PDT, which actually means till like 5 pm today. I'm not sure if that's for everyone, though. I doubt they could read everyone's application and send off invites by the next day, so hang in there!

Oof well that’s good to know haha rip me. Congratulations though on getting past the screener, and I hope your VI goes amazing!!

Hi, what comes after the Perkins VI? And what is the full process for them just so I can clearly visualise the timeline
I'm a zero gravity member, and they have a partnership with PC so held a webinar about the VS - they said that the stages are

- CV + Cover Letter
- Video Interview
- Competency Interviews

I thought that the VI would be automatic but it seems like maybe this is not the case? In which case maybe only one round of interviews? but they were quite light on the details past telling us about what they wanted to see in written app

I submitted app just past midnight on April 30th, and got VI invite at 22:12 UK time on 4th may
