Speaking of grades. Does anyone have any insight into what Freshfields and Macfarlanes think of a-levels? Neither have a minimum requirement.
I know it’s a holistic process, and grades are just one part of it. But does anybody know if it’s like Slaughters who also have no minimum, but it seems...
I can't see a percentage, but mine is on candidate review no tick? I suppose it means they've reviewed your app, but are waiting to progress, maybe until the new year? Or at least after christmas?
Are regional opportunities typically less competitive than in London? 90% of what I'm applying to is only in London, but for some I'm questioning if I should apply to the Manchester office (CMS, Fieldfisher, DLA) In a perfect world, my top choice probably would be London, but I am from near...
Taylor Wessing PFO, not entirely surprised as I don't meet grade req, and I only started my application a few hours before the deadline as a hail mary.
Linklaters Capp report came back, my best traits were Motivation and Respect, and my worst was apparently Commercial Thinking so I can't...
for linklaters, does anyone know if watson glaser must be completed before deadline?
i know capp must be, but the website would seem to indicate you can complete WG after the deadline, within 5 days of applying. i'd like to practice a little more is all
Anyone applying/applied for bakers? I'm unsure how to go about the first question, discussing a topic you're passionate about and how it's impacted you personally or professionally.
I've heard some firms in the past say they like when you go a bit out there, say you're really passionate about...
does anyone know, if i fail in applying for the linklaters open day, can i still apply for the vac scheme?
it says you can only complete the capp online assessment once per cycle, and I've really not found time to prepare for that or the watson glaser. wondering if i'm better off just not...
okay finally got around to submitting A&O shearman, that no retakes thing is absolutely criminal 🥲
completely lost my pace throughout both questions. i practiced them before several times, and got it under 1:45, but i was was slower in the actual recordings, and was so conscious of not looking...
sorry if this sounds silly but how do i list things chronologically.
of course i know that means most recent first, but what about ongoing things. e.g
Job 1 (proper job) May 2022- Present
Job 2 (variable hour job) Sep 2023 - Sep 2024
Campus Ambassador, Sept 2024 - Present
Open days/insight...
in the recruiter insight event I was on (first one I think), they said you definitely can include it, but like Jessica said, probably best not to ramble on and write too much about it, just if you've not got more significant experiences.
how much have people written for each work experience for A&O. I know they place a lot of emphasis on it, but the max word count is 600 per experience, with 15 experiences that would be 9000 words which is surely far too much?
they don't unfortunately, they used to, it was called CMS Academy, but they've stopped it for this year in favour of direct training contract applications, and as you've said the insight scheme for non-law.
