TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2024-25

yay! me too. Just wishing they had let us know sooner, tell me why the cheapest ticket to London for me is £140 😀. They'll cover 100 so it's not too bad, and I saved a bit over summer so I'm happy enough to spend the extra 40, but still.

I haven't done it myself so i'm not sure, but in the recruiter insight event yesterday, grad rec said once you close the browser you can't go back on, but she didn't specify if the video questions were a separate browser to the assessment.

TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2024-25

it does feel like a lot, I did two of the recruiter insight events and at both they emphasised how important the work experience section is because it's the only part of the application where they can assess written skills, they mentioned being succint, but also gave a laundry list of things to...

TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2024-25

hi everyone, does anyone have any tips for 'telling a story' ? I'm applying for A&O Shearman's winter vac scheme, and I'm lost writing the work experience sections. I went to one of the application masterclass things, and the grad recruitment people kept emphasising they wanted us to tell a...

    Bad A-level grades

I'm far from an expert, but from what I've read I'm not sure resitting A-levels will do much for you, on their own. When you apply for schemes/training contracts, you will still have to declare your original results too. They will know that you have resat. Even if you came out with 3A*s, while...

    Baker Mckenzie + Barbri/PGDL?

Hey all, I don't actually have an offer, and I am yet to apply for any TCs but I was doing a bit of firm research and Baker Mckenzie is one I'm quite interested in. I've seen that they no longer fund the PGDL and instead fund the SQE prep course with Barbri. In addition it seems Barbri offer a...

Converting VS to a TC as a non-law student?

Hey everyone, This is so so premature but is more of a curiosity question than anything, as it's something that only just occurred to me. I'm going into my second year of non-law and looking to apply to some vacation schemes in the next few months. I know for many/most vacation schemes there...

Vacation scheme applications with little/no legal experience? + any other tips?

Hey everyone, Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, this is my first post here. I'm a first year/going into second year non-law student. I have only very recently begun to consider a career in law, as in since early May. My uni faculty held a workshop encouraging STEM students to...
