yes - I wouldn’t worry about this too much though, both firms and universities manage it in their own way. Many professors delegate the references to admin in their faculty office for instance.
I think they mean you don’t have to include grades for modules that are not fully complete (eg if you have completed earlier assessed essays but not summer exams), but I read this that you would need to include and fully completed first year modules whether they count towards your degree or not.
Yes - there is no different in the systems. You can renege a job offer. Employers are not going to seek any breach of employment contract for an internship.
No etiquette as such - many people do it, lots of people don't though. Its really not going to make a difference, so you can do what you feel comfortable doing.
I would wait until you hear back now and at the point they offer, you can discuss with them the possibility of moving to the summer programme. If they say no, you can then consider whether the firm you have accepted could move you instead or whether this firm could offer you a direct TC process...
You can ask.
Sponsorship is unlikely as it’s pretty costly for a scheme that is going to last a 1-3 weeks.
A reduction in working hours could be more likely or alternatively a change of vacation scheme dates.
Some firms may also transfer you to a direct TC process instead as an alternative too.
You should ask both teams whether they can reschedule in the first instance. It could easily be either of them can allocate you to another date and then you wouldn’t have to worry about this.
I would choose the firm which is your top preference if it isn’t possible to reschedule either of them.
As a first step, I would ask your spring scheme firms to see if they can move you to summer because you will be in a new job. See what they say and then if they say no, your could also see if they could offer you a direct TC process instead.

Rather than starting with an article, I would try to think more broadly - what are general trends or changes that are happening that are impacting businesses generally?
I sense you are starting with an article and trying to get the answer to fit the question, rather than trying to think about...
Many firms do ask this at the application stage to try and help the scheduling process for interviews and assessment centres. However, many firms don't ask this in the early application/recruitment stages but manage this same process at the point of when they allocate candidates to assessors. In...
I have had enough similar comments at assessment centres/interviews where there is more of a familiarity of or connection to their interviewers. I really don’t think this will have been seen as an issue unless they were being derogatory towards certain groups.
Depends on how much you promote your social media and also how searchable you are. People with very common names are not necessarily easy to find and people who do not use their full names on their social media are pretty difficult to find too.
Many firms will have a requirement to pass the SQE on the first attempt, which is why the start dates tend to be fixed. For firms that do allow resits, they will either defer trainees to a later intake or allow them to start their TC with the view they sit the SQE assessments during the TC...
It is possible to do the SQE alongside your TC, although it will most likely be in the form of a graduate apprenticeship as firms are able to pay for the training costs via their apprenticeship levy. I would say outside of an apprenticeship, it is possible but just very rare.
I don’t think I have heard of a firm making the offer dependent on achieving a first. It’s not to say that there aren’t firms out there that do, but I think if they did, they would be saying it was a requirement when you apply. It would be a lot easier to stop people from applying if they didn’t...
