    Definitely worthwhile applying still - its only half way through the application window - I'd just try and get it in by mid-February, especially as a lot of unis will have a reading week where candidates may have more time to dedicate to writing applications.

    Yes - you can ask. Whether the firm can offer this will be dependent on a load of variable factors though. Some firms offer waiting lists for people who want to move intakes though.
