Hey @Applebanana425 , also just wanted to point out something a bit weird - I find your username soo adorable haha! I don’t know whether it‘s cause I had a banana for breakfast!
Hey @Applebanana425 , I know some people have been successful through checking for roles on Law Society Gazette, as well as reaching out to legal recruiters on LinkedIn - which are usually responsive. There are also specific agencies which partner with firms to find paralegals - for example, the...
Hey @affidavid , I know the deadline has passed for HSF, but I still think it’s useful to provide insights on this very good question, as it’s typically seen among other firm‘s applications as well.
In my experience, there is no single “right” approach to this question, and it is possible to...
Hey @C_AJH , I usually aimed for 650 words or around that 500-word mark. I found that this had helped me to go straight into my motivations, cut out flowery words, and it was these applications I ended up being most successful with. A longer word count may be permitted, but ensure you prioritise...
Hey @Zaraa.x , yes it’s AAB, per our list here; https://www.thecorporatelawacademy.com/forum/threads/law-firms-a-level-requirements-list.9082/
I suspect for degree requirements it’ll always be a 2:1 or better, and mitigating circumstances will be taken to account.
I totally get it, it’s sometimes a tough process, and it can really take a toll. Around this time last year, I went through something similar. In December, I had a week where I got four PFOs back-to-back. I was crushed. I felt like all my effort was for nothing, and I genuinely thought about...
Hi there @gazdgazd11 , I know how disheartening it can feel, but every rejection is a step closer to the opportunity that’s meant for you. It’s not a reflection of your potential or worth, it’s just part of the process. Keep reminding yourself of your strengths and how far you’ve come. Every...
The Importance Of A Support System During This Journey
The law firm application process can be a challenging and emotionally demanding journey, and having a strong support system can make a world of difference.
For me, my support system was my close friend, who was also navigating the same...
Hey @member7830 , most firms receive the bulk of their applications nearer the deadline, usually less than two weeks prior. So, I feel you are in a good position to apply now albeit the rolling stance.
Hey @lolasparks , I believe it‘s fine to bring up personal experiences as well. However, avoid making them too personal. For example, I have seen candidates talking about individual figures to substantiate answers to questions of this type, and although great - the personalisation element would...
Hi @hazanelson , I see no harm in applying as firm’s have different deadlines for how frequently they invite candidates to ACs. I have also just checked and seen their deadline is in January, and although rolling, I believe it’s fine to apply as it‘s at least over two weeks before the deadline date.
Hey there @Unknowncabbage ,
This is a really good question. I personally struggled with this element, specifically due to the need to show specificity, as @Jessica Booker and @Andrei Radu had mentioned.
Now, on the training point, many firms offer similar training structures. Thus, it’ll be...
Hey @marisachr , yes it’s non-rolling for HSF. Apologies for not clarifying - this is a strategy I apply to firms that are rolling. As HSF is non-rolling, I see no harm in applying for either spring/summer, since the deadline date is the same.
Hey @CarolineC ,
For VI’s generally, I’d say it’s worth preparing for the general questions. For example, some firms tend to sway towards the common ‘why us..why you.. why commercial law.. recent commercial issue that’s interested you that’ll affect our work/clients’. So, it’s worth having...
Hey everyone,
I had recently posted a Private Equity case study. I’ve left the floor open for discussions, so feel free to share your thoughts. I’ll be posting my thoughts on it by next Friday. Hope you find it useful… ;)...

Hey @Zaraa.x , I am unsure about CMS specifically, but I know of people who have been allocated via 10KBI and the processes remain largely similar across firms - application form, Watson glaser, etc.
