Good luck everyone this cycle. All of us are here for you at TCLA when you need it. Our goal is to help as many of you as we can to get training contracts this year!
PS: Last year’s vacation scheme thread had four million views and 22,000 replies 😮
Definitely not a reflection on your chances. Graduate recruitment teams are usually a bit tight around this time of year (summer holidays, small number of staff, waiting on people to make decisions etc.). No news at this stage is not bad news :)
Definitely good to mention! It demonstrates the quality of your writing :). No need to link it to commercial law, but you can focus on the skills you developed.
Sorry to hear this! I can imagine that's stressful.
I think this is the right approach. As you've emailed and explained the situation (while sending in a corrected version), I think you've handled this well. They won't penalise you for this technical error!
Hoping to post our podcast recording with Ian Bagshaw on Monday! Will be on LinkedIn and our YouTube: https://youtube.com/@20minutetc?si=yOsHjyqa_271SCxy
Hey All,
Just an early heads up that we will be locking this thread on the 1st August. It won't be going anywhere in case you want to search through old posts, but we'll be moving over to a new thread for 2025/26.
This is because the next cycle is (already) almost upon us 😮
This year's thread...
It is very taxing to do multiple vacation schemes. If it was me, I'd focus on the end goal: after another two weeks, you could come out with multiple training contract offers and you'll be grateful for what you've achieved (especially if they don't all convert).
Absolutely. The best one we have right now is this one.
This will also make sure you get any upcoming emails ahead of the application cycle. The plan is to send you all the best information we have about how to get a training contract this year :)
Yes I do. I've seen people with worse grades than yours secure a training contract with MC/SC and US firms.
The way I see it is that that's now out of your control. What you can do now is focus on getting on really good grades in your final year and nailing the law firm application process...
