£5 Amazon Gift Card for every successful application or cover letter you share!

Hey guys, I know we've been issuing a lot of Amazon gift cards recently... Alongside our forum upgrade, we are developing a database for (successful) past applications and cover letters available to premium members. This will allow you to search between firms far more easily. In doing so, we...

Did anyone else get a random invite from Ashurst a year later??

Wow, I can't say I've heard this happen before, but really well done! You may find this thread helpful for some virtual vacation scheme advice: https://www.thecorporatelawacademy.com/forum/threads/virtual-vacation-schemes-top-tips.2459/.

    Spelling mistake in application... help

Part of it depends on the likelihood of someone reading your application (at speed) being able to pick up a spelling mistake like that. Personally, I think it's unlikely that'll be spotted. I'd also flag that we very rarely review applications without at least one typo, spelling mistake or...

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

No problem - any day between the 24th - 28th will be a non-working day as we're taking some time off for Christmas. We'll be open on the 31st, although we're closed on bank holidays (so the 1st January 2021). If you're submitting an application anywhere around that time, I'd recommend a...

    2020-21 Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion

No problem at all, just helps to give the right advice! I see attributes more as personal qualities that are internal (e.g. integrity, reliability, work ethic etc.), whereas skills are more external (and perhaps something that has been acquired). Many are interchangeable though; I see the big...

    2020-21 Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion

No - unless the firm asks you to there's no need to make a link. If the firm has a strong focus on banking, I'd be surprised if corporate isn't also a big part of the firm's work.

To kick us off, I could nominate so many people, but a few that come to mind of late: 1. @OliviaBurn 2. @Lumree 3. @Manifesting

Nominate Members for a £35 Amazon Gift Card!

Hey guys, Further to my previous post about our upcoming forum upgrade (which will be coming very soon - maybe even this week!), we are going to be retiring/replacing our credits system because this is something we never properly implemented. (Note, that our credits system is different to the...

    Commercial question tips needed

Interesting question, I don't frequently see this type of question on application forms. I think you're exactly right about using your understanding of the firm and the events in the market to consider where management should expand into. I wouldn't really discuss how you intend to practically...
