Yes definitely. A couple of firms may not be worth doing (e.g., A&O have historically reviewed vac scheme apps quite early - not sure about training contracts), but it's hard to say what other firms are like that. I don't know much about how it works in practice (I didn't get that far and it's often quite hush-hush), but I imagine you can. I think it just depends on whether you're happy to go to a different area, whether they have space and whether they want you in their team.- Jaysen

I agree with all of the above. You did allude to this, but I'd also add that you need to clearly demonstrate your motivation for commercial law. If you do this well, you can somewhat make up for limited commercial/legal work experiences, especially if you are applying for a vacation scheme. You...- Jaysen
