    Law Firm Insight: Linklaters

The legal press often use JV and merger interchangeably, which makes this unclear, but from what I gather it's the latter (a JV). To answer your second question, both options were on the table and Linklaters did try push for a JV between 2014 and 2015. I understand they couldn't find a suitable...

    Decline of the high street

    1. Restructuring and insolvency departments are very busy at the moment. When companies struggle, they need legal advice. Perhaps, they want to sell off non-core assets, restructure debt or make employees redundant. As you said, they can also try an agreement with creditors using a CVA or scheme...

You may have new opportunities for secondments/knowledge sharing -- especially if...

    How to answer why us?

Especially for firms like Kirkland and HSF. It's a better answer if you have a genuine interest in the work than artificially referring to awards/deals (which students often do). Ben explains it well here: https://www.thecorporatelawacademy.com/the-complete-guide-to-training-contract-applications/

    Winter Vacation Scheme 2018 Thread

Rolling as far as I'm aware. Would strongly recommend applying early to A&O as places fill up.

    Discouraged

As you said, contract law is the module that has the most relevance to commercial lawyers and a large proportion of what commercial lawyers do involves drafting/negotiating contract terms. I don't think it's a great measure, but it's true, many law firms will factor in your contract law module...
