That is confusing as its unclear whether the mistake is the "seven" or one of the two dates. If you wanted to play it safe though, you'd go with five days from the date of your email.
However, I would contact them to ask. I am sure they will probably send more comms out if lots of people are...
You can do this but I'd keep the email short and to the point in terms of why you are reaching out to them - don't tell them your life story, just explain why you are contacting them specifically.
And don't send lots of cold emails to people in the same firm - this gets around pretty quickly...
It will depend on your university term time and when the schemes run. Many international students find winter schemes difficult as their term time runs to just before Christmas but the schemes run in either November or early December.
I don't think there is an actual number (know this is not the most helpful response) due to the number of variables that could happen.
For instance, doing 5 over 5 years is very different to doing 5 over one cycle. Its also very different if they are also all very recent rather than some many...
Most firms will offer permanent contracts to NQs, but fixed term contracts are still used especially when the department is going under change. For instance, I have seen firm offer FTCs when they have people on maternity/paternity leave or on sabbaticals/secondments but are due to come back, or...
You can ask but most firms are moving to the SQE as the old training system has far more regulation and structure that they have to comply with that they don’t have to with the SQE. There is no harm in asking, but I would expect that in most instances there is a significant chance they will say no.
If you didn’t do anything in that year, it would be a bit of a red flag but as long as you are doing some form of work or self-development in that year (even if it is something like travelling), that is fine.
It doesn’t have to be an SQE prep course, but that could also be something to consider...
Do you mean the post study visa? If so, it is very common for international candidates to stay in the U.K. on this visa and work/study whilst still pursuing a TC. It would not be an issue for most firms who sponsor visas and may only be an issue for firms who look for people to do their TC on...
If you are going to study part time you will have capacity to potentially build up other experience while you do it (like you have said with the volunteering) and so I don’t see why you’d be at a disadvantage compared to someone else applying for a 2028 training contract. Remember some people...
Yeah was stated on Legal Cheek and Reddit around the same time this thread started). Just strange for it to be resurrected a few weeks later by a new member…
This only applies from the time you start a TC, so it is not an issue while you hold an offer or receive any funding in terms of a maintenance grant or SQE sponsorship.
That is what I thought. It’s been a rumour going around for a few weeks now, but I haven’t seen or heard anything that actually confirms it.
I hope this is not a malicious rumour going around - I am always slightly cautious when the post comes from a completely new member with no post history...
These things are always horses for courses.
For every person who hates a short application, another hates writing longer answers/statements. For everyone who likes a video interview, there is someone who despises them.
With applications, it’s rarely about the just the application questions...
