You can mention it in sections about your motivations or careers related activities you have been involved in. I don't think it should be in work experience, but it can be leveraged elsewhere in applications to show your interest in or knowledge of the sector.
If you feel you need personal reasons, do a bit of research about the region and why you would like living there (e.g. what you'd get up to outside of work). You can mention the family too - but I think this just needs to be a brief reference given you aren't close/haven't spent time with them...
Yes, I would expect this to be the case for many firms, especially for offices outside of London and if your application has no reference to that region.
Is having family there really a reason if you haven’t visited them? If not, I wouldn’t say this just for the sake of saying it. I would try...
I personally don't think this is needed (unless the firm explictly asks you to do this in the application form). The recruiter can read into the connection between commercial law or consider what would be transferable skills, and in the vast majority of cases you don't need to spell it out why...
The key to this answer is identifying who are the most important people to build relationships with. The answer cannot be everyone - this is a firm of thousands of people, so being selective about who you are identifying is important.
One key element of this is thinking about what is the...
I have heard many stories like this in my time. Law is actually a pretty small world, so I have seen relatives, housemates, couples, best friends, neighbours be in VS or TC cohorts.

I am going to delete any further posts trying to bring up the W&C competitor debate and anything associated with it that has any form of condescending or superiority tone to it. A number of posts have already been removed from this thread for this reason.
If this was an...
I don't think there will be a specific format they are looking for. They will just want it to be in a clear, succinct and in your own voice and with your own analysis.
How I have felt for the past 20 minutes reading through this thread.
I get that many of you have a point you want to get across, but there are far more productive ways of getting that across that making personal attacks about people. Question the ideas not the person and you'll generally keep...
Are you sure you are eligible for both? I'd normally expect there to be different criteria for programmes like this.
But if you are eligible, based on the comments from the recruiter, then yes you can apply with similar answers.
You lot stress me out at times for no reason at all!
Please keep it civil. There are various ways in which competitors can be defined. The key to any good answer to these type of questions is how YOU are creating that definition!
You can mention it briefly - you can’t really leverage the experience having not done it, but you can explain it in a way to show you are pursuing the career or a type of firm.
Typically not more than 12 weeks unless it is a programme that has a fixed start date (like trainee intakes).
Sometimes it might be less than 4 weeks as sometimes roles have a fairly immediate start date.
You can but this is an opportunity to show something different about your interests or knowledge and so I would potentially try to pick another story to show more variety.
However, they still may ask you about what you wrote on your application, so make sure you are up to date with the...
I’d say bullet points are best in the vast majority of situations when it is a CV.
It is different if you are writing it within an application though. If your friend wrote this in an application form it would be a different approach.
