I would avoid just jumping into examples - this isn't really what strengths based assessments are about. They want you to be forward looking rather than rely on past evidence.
Instead focus on what you would do, what factors you would need to consider, if needed explain any assumptions you are...
I think that is fine. Sometimes these things don’t happen very often (eg leading supermarket mergers don’t happen every year), and so as long as you are linking it to your interests and making the matter unique because of that, you should be fine where it’s less than 18-24 months.
Hi there - yes, you can definitely ask this and there is no harm in doing so. Just be prepared for them to say no and basically bat it back to you and state that it will be with you to decide whether you proceed with your VI and potentially renege on your existing Spring offer, or withdraw from...
The test providers have what are called “norm groups” - these are groups of individuals who have taken the test and whose results have been scored.
You are then ranked within this group and your score is put on a percentile ranking. If you got a lower score than anyone in the norm group you...
Very unlikely to be that high - typically not much higher than 65th percentile across firms. But can be as low as the 13th (have seen it that low).
It really depends what/who you are being assessed against though. Not all groups you are being assessed against are the same, which is why you can...
Yes - you would need to disclose this, but the first step would be to ask the person you have sent it to, to delete it or get an understanding of what has been seen/reviewed and by whom.
Oh I slightly disagree on the A part - this should be the majority of your answer. Basically very brief S and T, and mainly detail around A and R (result, reflection, and reward).
The big influence here will be what your studying plans are. You will find it difficult to secure work if you still need to complete your LPC or are going to convert to the SQE, particularly if you cannot commit to full time hours or needs significant periods of time off for assessments.
You can talk about crappy situations, you just have to be mindful of the language you use to describe them, particularly when talking about others or their work.
You also focus less on what others did and more about what you did to change the situation. If you can focus on the improvements you...
And that's the problem - a lot of people are not very good liars and get spotted easily (a bit like Jay!).
But I think you could use the example of your retail manager if there is something you did to improve the situation. If it was just that they were manipulative and pyscho, there isn't any...
Because you were working part-time, it would be better to show the commitment to your LPC studies rather than trying to hide them. There could be more of a question of what else you were doing with your time if you purposely avoided detailing it.
If a firm asked you to declare any resits, you would need to disclose these for the LPC even if you didn't complete the course. Some firms also ask you to disclose any studies even if they weren't completed, and so in these instances you would still have to declare the LPC.
Were you working...
I wouldn't completely make up answers - this is pretty risky approach, especially in an industry where integrity is everything.
I agree with the careers advisor - its best to apply your most relevant/appropriate answers rather than making them up.
It depends on the firm's policy of how much of the SQE you need to complete/pass before starting a TC, and also what form of prep course you go on.
You technically could start a flexible SQE prep course now, sit SQE1 in July 2024, and then SQE2 in November and have your results around mid-March...
Its not necessarily a PFO, but I wouldn't rush to contact them either. Sometimes these things take longer than expected.
If you haven't heard anything by Friday or even Monday next week, then contact them.
It’s not too personal, but you have to remember you are not going to work on that deal (it has happened), so generally I think it’s better to frame it more about the type of work the practice does rather than specific deals. You can still reference that specific deal to highlight that type of...
I don’t think you can guarantee that they will ask you about practice areas. If it is a key reason for your application, then mention it, but don’t feel you have to mention it if it isn’t.
These technical issues happen all the time, so I really wouldn’t worry about this.
I would acknowledge the email and say you look forward to retaking the interview. If you feel you need further details on how to access to retake of the interview, then also state that in the email.
